Can I eat Ramen noodles on my pre op diet, I remember the nurse saying something about them but I don't remember what she said? Of course they're closed 2day, please help

I'm not sure what your doctor's pre-op diet is like, but I could only have shakes. The shakes could be with or without skim milk. That was the only flexibility I had.

Every doctor's preop diet is a bit different, but for most the point is to shrink the liver by cutting carbs... and noodles are very carby, so I wouldn't think so.

Best bet is to not have them today, and call in tomorrow. ;)

Ramen doesn't really have much to offer in the way of nutrition. The flavoring is often chock full of sodium and MSG. I'd try to find something a little healthier if at all possible.

Ramen noodles wouldn't be the best choice. I'm on day 3 of my pre op diet and have only felt hungry once.

Try a shake followed by a bottle of Water. Then have a creamy Soup later with a bottle of Water and Crystal light.

Eat some Greek yogurt and cottage cheese for Breakfast. There are several different options.

Try and hang in there - I know it's hard... I'm on day 2 of my Pre-op (3 shakes a day plus unlimited SF Popsicles, Jello and broth) and I want food, lol. So I keep drinking Water :) and lots of it ;) if you have to cheat from all liquids I would recommend some of the choices already mentioned like yogurt. You can do this!!! Just keep the end goal in mind :)

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
