Lean Cuisine/Healthy Choice?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried a healthy option frozen lunch such as Lean Cuisine or Healthy Choice? I'm hoping to find some options that I can grab out of the freezer and take with me to work just in case I don't have enough time to prepare something the night before. Any ideas? If you have tried them, do they taste good? Are they good alternatives? Which are your favorites?

There is a new Atkins brand frozen meal variety. I've found that 1/2 of one makes a perfect meal. I don't like to eat them very often because I've become accustomed to fresh food. But they work in a pinch!

I've tried a few Lean Cuisines, but it is too much food for me. It tastes alright, and is convenient. I get the ones that are just meat and veggies. There is a Ranchero Beef with Chipotle Sweet Potatoes that is pretty good and goes down easy. Good luck!

Thanks guys! I assumed it would be too much food. I'm okay with throwing half of it away since I won't be eating them very often. I was hoping there would be options without noodles and rice so that sounds good. I didn't know they had an Atkins brand. Ill definitely look into it! Thank you!!

I would say that the Atkins ones are the best option due to high Protein and low carb. That is if you are trying to stay low carb.

Not sure where you're from but in Canada we have "blue menu" brands. Much healthier than lean cuisine or smart ones. And there really tasty too, I eat the fettuccine Alfredo with broccoli...mmm I tend to stay away from the meat ones because they don't taste like real meat to me.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
