weigh-in 47 Posted May 27, 2013 What's the difference between soft foods and puréed foods? I started soft foods last Friday and will be on it for 3 weeks, then I go straight to introducing real foods. Is puréed the same as soft? I'm afraid to just be eating scrambled egg n cheese n mashed potatoes for 3 weeks then jump straight into real foods.

Do not eat any chunks of solid food even small bites. Soft diet- start adding soft foods that are tender and easy to chew. Every doctor might be different with their definitions. Do you have a guide or book from your hospital that might go into more details?
weigh-in 47 Posted May 27, 2013 On the hand out from the dr it just stated at 1 week post op begin soft foods of scrambled eggs, any kind of cheese except cream cheese, yogurt, plain, cottage cheese and refried Beans. Then it states to be on the soft foods for 3 weeks, then to move on to introducing real foods, one at a time, into my diet.
