chrissilicious 11 Posted May 27, 2013 I'm 5 days post and feeling great. Hardly no pain, i can drink or sip with hardly any pain. My dilemma is that I'm ready to start the next stage! I am so sick of Clear Liquids. Do you all think because I'm doing so well, I can start incorporating Soups? Lol or stick to the plan?
MystiGal 143 Posted May 27, 2013 Glad to hear you are doing so well! I am 6 days post op and feeling almost normal. I definitely do not think it is a good idea to go against what your doctor has said to do. I know how you feel, I have 3 weeks of liquids. But no matter how well I feel, this is a time for our new stomach to heal. Not to mention our stomachs are still swollen from surgery!! Do not go on and put whatever you want in your mouth, the doctor really knows best! Wouldn't want you to be one of those people who ate whatever they thought they could and end up back in the hospital with a leak! Go slow, give yourself time to heal! Good luck! 1 janie2024 reacted to this

MystiGal 143 Posted May 27, 2013 If you are talking to your surgeon tomorrow, I would suggest you stay on clear liquids until then.

punzel426 19 Posted May 27, 2013 Like you said your feeling GREAT, that's because you've been following doctors orders. The old saying applies "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". U just have a little while longer. The better your tummy feels, the better it will handle food when I start introducing it. Just my thoughts.... Lisha73 97 Posted May 27, 2013 Congrats on 5 days, I am 4 days post op and today I was told to start full liquids, eating a sugar free pudding and it is doin well right now. Accourding to my Dr.s orders, 3 days post op clear liquids, then 7 days for full liquid (cream Soups included) then 3 weeks of puree foods. Only introduce 1 new food at a time
