So, I have promised myself I'd be compliant with my Cpap, and just like before, I am awake more often with it than without it... My doc prescribed ambien, but I don't want to get addicted... So here I am at 3:30, wide awake :(

Me too. I cannot deal with this CPAP thing. Have had sleep ap for about 14 years. My #1 prayer when I have my sleeve (in about a month) is to get rid of this. Did your dr. say when you could ditch your CPAP?

I am literally a zombie, so tired and just getting over a triple hernia operation. As we lose this weight, we have to be getting closer to no longer having sleep ap.

My surgeon requires you be compliant, and to bring it to the hospital... Dangerous otherwise... /sigh :(

Mine said that too but I kinda had a lil blonde girl melt down & I think he rationalized it because "I didn't have enough time to get the titration anyway" (cuz from 1st appt to surgery day was only about 8 weeks) I say boo to sticklers! I wish you all the best! ...& lots of zzzzz's :)

I refused to even take the test where you stay overnight. I know to many people that have been diagnosed with sleep apnea and never use there machines. I feel it is just another money making procedure that they do to keep these places in business. If I had it it is probably gone at over 60 lbs lost.

Stay away from the Ambien. I have been taking that over 15 years and am trying to get off of it now. I have not taken one for 2 weeks and am sleeping about 5-6 hours a night by now. Good luck everyone.

I have been using my Cpap for over a month. The nose piece irritates me a little. When I wake up at night, I am wide awake. I wake up every morning at 5 am ready to run a marathon. I cannot believe how awesome I feel since I have started using the Cpap. I will take the little inconveniences any day for the way I feel now!!! I highly recommend it if you wake up tired or feel tired most of the day!

This is what my sister says and she worked at a sleep lab (affiliated with one of the best medical schools in the country) while she was in medical school. She advises her patients to stay away from them . . .

I am addicted to my CPAP. My sleep apnea is severe. So much so, that without my CPAP, my O2 stats plummet to around 47 while sleeping. So, for me, it isn't a wise thing to not use it. I do hope that I will not have to use it later.

A family member had the sleeve done over a year ago. She has reached goal and then some... But she still has sleep apnea and has to use her cpap. Dothey tell you that this surgery cures sleep apnea? It definitely does not for everyone!

Time to make friends with your CPAP! Perhaps you could try a new mask. The first mask I had made me feel claustrophobic. Every morning it left its signature triangle shaped impression on my face that lasted until lunch time! I have since found a mask that is comfortable and non-invasive. The head gear has nasal pillows and does not involve my whole face. I like to sleep on my stomach, so I use a soft down pillow so that I can support my head and leave a hollowed out spot for my mask. No more marks on my face and no more claustrophobic feeling! Sleep apnea can cause serious health issues. A well fitted mask will help you have a better nights sleep. Good Luck!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
