This was delish!!! 1 head of cauliflower rices in a processor then cooked. Drain the Water from the cauliflower. Add 2 egg whites, low fat cheese and Italian seasonings. I used Pam cooking spray on my pizza stone. Spread out the cauliflower crust bake until golden brown. Remove from oven let cool add toppings and rebake! Enjoy!

I have to laugh when looking at my pizza though because I was only able to tolerate about 4 small bites lol... Also my toppings were apple chicken low fat low sodium sausage, Tomato, green pepper, garlic and cheese. My kids loved it... Hubby not so much a fan of cauliflower.

Both the cauliflower crust and pork rind crusts are good.. I personally use pork rind crust. Just google pork rind Pizza Crust. no carbs and everyone in my family loves it. It does not taste like Pork rinds (which I cant stand). Tastes just like pizza crust.

How do you feel about portabello mushrooms? I make stuffed portabellos using hot Italian Turkey sausage, a little sauteed green pepper and onion, no sugar added Pasta sause and mozzarella. Baked in the oven. I can't wait until I'm far enough along to have them again. Very easy for Portion Control.< /p>

That's a great idea! I think we did either a Weight Watchers or Clean Eating recipe that was basically pizza on a portabello. It was pretty good if I remember correctly.

If you can't quite manage the good ideas on this thread, I would suggest going with a super-thin crust, similar to the Papa Murphy's delite pizzas. Still white flour, and can't speak to ingredients, but at least you would be getting a lot less of it. My nutritionist said that I would need to largely avoid bread, but she said that something toasted and cracker-like would be fine if I was cautious with the portion. There definitely have to be solutions to getting the flavors that you love.

Best of luck!

Does anyone have a recipe for a pizza-like cheat option? For post op surgery like past healed. A healthy option to eat pizza' date=' with red sauce? I've seen the veggie packed pesto type options and I can't stand pesto lol but I love my red sauce, I do love a few choice veggies but I gotta have meat on my pizza!!! Thanks!!![/quote']

I like pizza Fit and Free www.pizzafree.com. Fat free and sugar free pizza. Single serving pizza ( about 7" across) has 248 calories, 14 G Protein .. There are 47 carbs, but no sugar. I haven't tried it post op, but it may be an option, they taste great and you can add whatever toppings you like.

Even if I make my own pizza sauce? Being a tomatoes and fresh herbs?! What about turkey pepperoni? Do they even make that!!

Yes!!! They make turkey pepperoni and sausage. We eat Kosher, so it's out there to find. Butterball makes the best turkey burgers by the way- we buy the plain seasoned ones and oh my, you'll never go back to regular burgers- my kids ask for those all the time.

They have corn Syrup in the sauce. In other words processed sugar by another name.

Anyhow...because I cant eat much I just put some sauce that I make myself in a small oven safe dish and put toppings & cheese on it and then stick it in the oven until its hot & melty. I try to make it small but it always ends up 2 servings.

Also I freeze most of my sauce in ice cubes trays and then keep the frozen cubes in a freezer bag. That way I can add 2 cubes to something easily.

It's so ghetto how they boldly proclaim "Sugar-Free!" but actually have corn Syrup in the sauce...talk about deceptive.

I enjoy the cauliflower crust pizza but my personal favorite is pizza sauce, cheese & turkey pepperoni on a portobello mushroom cap. A lot less work. I also make personal pizzas on a zucchini boat. :)

I tried the zucchini boat way but it turned out pretty squishy & messy. I cooked the zuc in the oven first then put the toppings and baked some more. Do you do yours differently?

I used to make the portobello pizza years ago, have to go get some of those.

So far I haven't been that satisfied with pizza toppings yet, just doesn't taste as good as they used to.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
