Stef_L 76 Posted May 26, 2013 I need a support system. I was sleeved may 16th ad so far so food, minimal pain but the post op diet is really starting to get to me. It's beginning of summer and memorial weekend so everyone is off at bbqs and having fun while I choose to stay home. My husband is super supportive of everything but I don't want to keep him from living his life when this was ultimately my decision. It would be nice to have someone that can relate. Stef_L 76 Posted May 27, 2013 I'm at the "full liquid stage" so I can have blended Soups and Protein Shakes along with Water and broth... I see my dr Tuesday so I can get released to start the baby food portion for one week. After that I start soft foods which I'm very excited about. Could be worse I read things from people who had to be on full liquid for a month!

nervousnellie 50 Posted May 27, 2013 I went to a Kentucky Derby party 3 days before my surgery. A friend had smoked a whole hog and mint juleps were everywhere. It was hard, but I kept my Water glass in my hand at all times to keep them occupied. I drank a shake right before I went. I took a Protein Drink mix with me too just in case, but didn't need it. I just focused on socializing. No one noticed I didn't eat.
