nicolenik17 126 Posted June 15, 2013 Thats fine' date=' u didnt eat much & ur human, ur going to mess up, thats a giving. Like they said the surgery is on ur stomach not ur head... When goin out try packin up something to eat on, that way u r not starvin & wont have u making bad choices. I see that planning/preparing in advance helps me (my mind) stay focused... Sent from my iPhone using VST[/quote'] Thanks DaFierce1, I'm going to work that. I know that it will be easier as I get further out. By then I will be able to carry Protein Bars and things like that. Currently it seems like everything that I am eating needs to be refrigerated.
nicolenik17 126 Posted June 15, 2013 News flash! White meat chicken is not our friend for post- op sleevers. Laurie had informed us in class that white meat chicken tends to be too dry for us sleevers, unless you have a way to make it very juicy, to go with dark meat. So yesterday I decided that I would finally cook. Got out the good ole crockpot, frozen chicken tenders, spices, liquid smoke, chicken stock, and barbecue sauce. House is smelling, chicken looking good. I'm thinking " oh yes" it's on. Trying eating it, tasting delish, go to swallow and then it happened. The darn chicken was stuck in my chest for which seemed like eternity. Sooooooo depressing. So now my best friend is happy cause she received a container full of barbecued chicken. So I went to the store and bought ground turkey and made homemade meatballs. I'm good to go now. 1 TV-Duhhh!!! reacted to this

I was told to chew chew chew. I think I'm just going to be very afraid to eat.

Don't be afraid. Everything will be just fine. When I say stuck, I don't mean like I'm choking. It's like it's like you can feel it sitting there and you want it to move down. If the is dry, no amount of chewing is going to make it . I also made that mistake with a piece of over cooked baked fish.

DANG WISH I CUD OF GOT THAT MEAL...LOL YEAH THEY WERE SAYIN TO USE GRAVY OR SOMETHING TO MAKE IT MOIST.. BUT OTHER THAN THAT NO PAIN OR ANYTHING GOING DOWN? HOW SMALL OF AN AMOUNT OF food ARE YOU OR NEED T O CHEW ON AT A TIME?
nicolenik17 126 Posted June 17, 2013 No pain, just major discomfort. I take very small bites. It's suppose to take 30 minutes to complete each meal. Yesterday I had dinner with family for Father's Day. I was able to eat 1/2 of a Turkey Italian sausage with the casing removed (instructed that our sleeves may have a problem digesting the casing or it may become stuck) and one of the smallest fingerling red potato I have ever seen (the old me could have eaten at least 3 of them at one time). But I sat there with my saucer and cut everything into tiny pieces and ate very slowly savoring every chew. The rest of the family had regular plates that overflowed, and had seconds and thirds. I was full from less than a toddlers portion. Instead of the usual, going home with a couple of plates. I wrapped the other half of the sausage and another potato. I couldn't help but to laugh at how things have changed in just two weeks. 1 DaFierce1 reacted to this
