JessicaDiane1021 147 Posted May 26, 2013 Has anyone tried subway? If so how was it. I ate two bites yesterday and felt so sick :-/
able2cope 193 Posted May 26, 2013 I tried a wrap, and after a couple of bites I had had enough... made good choices for the filling too. I've not touched 'bread' since I was sleeved.
JessicaDiane1021 147 Posted May 26, 2013 Yeah I had the healthiest one on the menu but didn't have a wrap I had the whole wheat. Honestly I will not try to do it again. I haven't felt that way in my belly at all until last night :/ such an icky feeling.

Fiddleman 4,376 Posted May 26, 2013 Depends on what you are going to order. The wraps and subs should wait until you can comfortably eat bread again, maybe never. I bet you will be comfortable with eating wraps from subway after month 5. They also can make salads out of any sandwich type. I personally used to enjoy the sweet onion chicken teriyaki and a salad made out of this would be pretty tasty. Everyone is different, but a lot of post ops require a number of months until they can eat the raw veggies in a salad. Again, this might be month 5 or month 6. Did you know that subway just started to sell a dedicated chopped chicken salad option? These are fairly good and you can double Protein it if you desire. Like the sandwich salads i described above, you can pick and choose which toppings to add to he chopped salad. There is enough salad to last you 3-4 meals. The only negative is the chopped salad is a bit pricy at 9 dollars. Too much in my opinion for what you get. 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this
LiggleLiggle 84 Posted May 26, 2013 I eat the double chicken chopped salad at least once a week. It does last me 3-4 meals so very economical. I love that you can go on their website, enter exactly what you want to eat and it gives all the nutritional value. I printed out my salad so I could keep tract of it on Lose It and also give it to my husband when it is his turn to go pick it up 1 Fiddleman reacted to this
Jermiria LaideeJae Darden 17 Posted May 29, 2013 I started trying salads again this month after being sleeved on March 18th, and I was able to digest it well after making sure everything was chopped up well! I love going to Subway and having my salads made there, and they always chop everything finely for me. One salad from there equals out to a good four portions! I also get the Southwest Grilled chicken Salad from McDonalds as well! My favorite salad from there, and if chopped very well, it last up to three portions. Plus, there is this chain of restaurants here in the South called Momma Goldbergs where they make the best salads, and you can choose what veggies you want, and they chop everything finely there as well! Definitely been a good way to get my veggies in!
