swimming pool after the surgery? How soon?

Recommended Posts

Hello all post-surgery members,

I am stil pre-surgery (06/11!!!) and I was wondering how soon can you get in the pool after your surgery? I mean how long does it take for the incisions to close up? I obviously don't want to catch any infection...

Hello! I was told at least 4-6 weeks. I am almost 3 weeks out and one of my incisions is still a tad open and I'm fighting an infection. Soooo, while it is tempting, don't rush it. Good luck to you!

My surgeon said 3 weeks if it's laparoscopic, but he also said that the incisions had to be completely closed. I think you're right to be cautious.

I'm two weeks out and my incisions are completely closed. I will probably give it a couple more days just to make extra sure before I hit the pool.

Wow I am only a lil over a week out and you can hardly tell I had surgery. Kinda just looks like a cat scratched me at this point lol.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
