I am not trying to be rude but why would you want to put that junk (taco bell) back in your body? or calzones they have so much fat!! You went thru so much to do that to your self. Again please dont think I am trying to be mean, I am just being honest.

maybe you can have grilled chicken with green Beans?

tuna in Water, hard boiled eggs? so many options beside fast food.

Instead of taco bell you can do homemade ground turkey tacos? With low fat sour cream and low fat cheese? with lots of lettuce and tomatoes? its an option.

Hey guys remember .. Everything in moderation. Also I have children and they beg for Taco Bell so I totally understand. I think the filling from a taco would be fine. I also made fake pizzas.. I use a flour tortilla and do sauce and cheese and mushrooms and bake and then after slide it off the wrap because I don't eat carbs do to a bad liver. So I eat the melted cheese and mushrooms flavored with sauce and I do fine. We have to find healthy things that fit in our lifestyle. I wouldn't have time somedays to make a turkey taco and truthfully I wouldn't want to.. Lol..

Its an option. I myself dont have time either but I make time to feed my girls home made meals instead of fast food. I am working mother but I find time. And as far as not liking turkey tacos to each their own. I was saying that we all worked too hard to fall into our old patterns. Obviously we didn't make the best food choices before thats why we are here. But its your own personal choice just trying to give alternatives. And as far as eating the inside of the taco and pretty sure its filled with tons of fat and carbs.

my nut and doc say to me to go on here for some help

Um, I'm sorry but that doesn't sound rights their paycheck and success depend on you. To be honest, I've never heard of a medical professional tell someone to seek non professional medical advice. My surgeon gave me a full 12 month diet post op (I'm 6 days out) and it does not include non FDA approved foods filled with preservatives and fillers! Good G** why do you want meat that is not even FDA approved? Can you not make your own tacos, burritos and quesadillas? Remember this is a lifestyle change, not a quick easy way out. Beauty is pain, so no pain no gain!

My kids beg for McDonald's and Burger King prior to surgery and now. Doesn't mean I give them what they want. I'm the mom, the adult and I say what they eat. Currently they are both healthy and slim.

Oh and the meat in taco bells meat is not FDA approved. There was a major lawsuit last year, look it up.

Same here. I am not going to make my kids addicted to fast food like I was. They never even had soda. I want to do whats best for them. I may be chubby but not my kids they eat well and I make a point of it.

Diana you're absolutely right. And one of the first questions the surgeon, nutritionist and psychologist all asked is "do you have enough time to prepare your own meals". It doesn't have to be extravagant. Kids are very appreciative when they are taught to be. I'm certain your babies don't throw a fit cause they didn't get McDonald's today right? Right! :-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
