Has anyone had problems with previous scar tissue when they had their surgery?

Recommended Posts

I am really curious to see if anyone had complications because of it. I have had three hernias removed, a tubal ligation, a hysterectomy, among other surgeries in my 46 years of living. Currently, I am 5'6 and when they weighed me in at the information session, I was 247.8lbs. When I weighed myself last I was 239.2. When I weigh myself at home, I weigh myself without any clothes on. So I don't know how much of a difference it will be between the two. Considering they weigh me in the evening, where as I do it in the morning.

I have had a Tummy Tuck and two other laproscopic abdominal procedures through my belly button before I had my VST....I had no problems. They actually reused my belly button scar for this surgery. It gave me no problems and healed the fastest with NO pain. Can't say the same for two of my other new incisions.

Weighing in naked and a.m as opposed to dressed and pm could sway the scale as much as 5lbs depending on what you're wearing and how soon weigh is post supper. Sorry being pre-op I can't speak to the scar tissue aspect.

Thanks for asking that questions. I have a complicated case .......I have had several fibroid surgeries, hysterectomy, 2 hernia repair, gallbladder removal and two tummy tucks. New belly button position along with scar tissue. Have anyone experienced any thing similar that caused problem for sleeve surgery?

I have and my surgeon reused my navel scar. Which was wise....those scars caused no issues. You should be fine.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
