I was sleeved Monday in Salem NJ by what I think is a great Dr Kakailaya from Salem Medical Group. I was 252 lbs day of surgery today I weighed in at 240 at home. I had surgery to not only loose weight but to hopefully do away with a lot of back pain that I have.

Baby steps. That's all I can think of. I ended up two nights at hospital since my counts were high. I'm a day or so behind on the diet I'm not rushing it my nutritionist agreed to take it slow as long as I'm getting 64 oz of fluids in until I can move along then ill be good. Don't be afraid to ask for pain meds while your there in hospital.

I was also sleeved Monday 5/20, in Harrisburg, Pa. I was released 5/21. I had a very hard time taking in Protein and fluids when I came home. I was actually dehydrated the past 2 days. I cannot use the protein supplements from the doctors because I cannot get them down within a decent time. I found protein vials that are 25g and taste pretty decent. My only advise so far is slow and steady...walk a lot to get the air out, and just relax. :-)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
