smithkr1 0 Posted December 17, 2006 I had all my pre-testing done Friday afternoon the 8th and was running a low grade fever. I'm recovering from a bout with bronchitis and not completely over it evidently. My PCP put me on 2 different inhalers. Her comment when she came back in the room after checking my chest x-rays was..."Well, there's good news and bad news...the good news is, it's not pneumonia, the bad news is, if your not significantly better by Monday (the 11th), you need to contact your surgeon :phanvan. Anyway, that's where I am today, and kinda bummed out. However, I know it's definetly for the best as far as my health, don't want to take any chances! :update: UPDATE: Surgery Rescheduled for DEC 20! 11:00 a.m. Have found another lap band patient and 2 rny bypass patients at my Church!!!! Back on the liquids and down to 234!....Thanks for all y'alls kind words and encouragement! By the way, on a scale of 1 to 10, how BAD is the pain after surgery?.. such a wimp here, I'm all for the miracles of medication....
lianna 3 Posted December 17, 2006 I certainly hope you are back to 100% by surgery day! I was in some pain the first 3 days, but all I ever took was some liquid Tylenol for it... I never took any of the prescription stuff. BTW, your band date is my birthday! I will be thinking about you!
Devana 0 Posted December 17, 2006 Good luck on the 20th, Kathy. A wonderful Christmas present to yourself!
beachgirl 2 Posted December 17, 2006 I'd say mine was a 2. Didn't need anything for pain. Good luck and hope your feeling better soon.
gadgetlady 4 Posted December 17, 2006 I had the same problems before my surgery: bronchitis and a cold had it postponed for a month. As aggravating as it is, it's better to be healthy when going under the knife. And I, too, am a total pain wimp. I'd put it at a 3 or maybe a 4 on a scale of 1 to 10. My c-sections were more like a 7 or 8. HTH!
*susan* 1,709 Posted December 18, 2006 Only 3 more days and you will be an official bandster, congrats!
transformer 1 Posted December 19, 2006 Hi there! I'm so glad you didn't have to wait too long for your surgery to be rescheduled! Mine is tomorrow (Dec. 19th) so we can compare notes! I'm glad to hear from some of you that the pain wasn't too bad. I figure I can handle anything that's less pain than childbirth! :omg:
