For those with BMI 36 or lower, how much did you lose your first month pre-op

Recommended Posts

I'm a little surprised that for those of you in the low 30 bmi range that your doctor would encourage it. My surgeon actually wants post surgical patients to be in the 25-28 range for life even though the "healthy" range is down to 18.5.

I will be 4 weeks out tomorrow, as of this morning I have lost 23 lbs. I feel like it is slow going but then I KNOW I wouldn't have ever lost this much in a month without the sleeve.

My husband will be one week out tomorrow and he has already lost 24 lbs . . . that does not help. He has a little more to loose than I do though. I would really like to loose 70-80 lbs. I wish there was a "light weight" forum here.

I know how you feel. I was kinda low. The day of surgery I weighed 200lbs. and that was on Nov. 18th and last week I weighed 194. Well I've just started ( last week) hitting the gym and this week I've pushed it to 1hr. Cardo 5 dys wk and 2dys light weights. Its moving Slow for me too. But I've always heard ( even without surgery ) the heavier you are the more you loose. Just keep chipping away at it and you will begin to see results. I feel like I'm loosing a lot of inches. It will get better. :D

Kind of difficult to explain because I was in the middle of losing weight on my own already when I started the supervised diet..I had already lost 30 pounds before my first doctor appointment. Highest weight of 345 so my bmi was like 48. My first month of supervised diet I lost twelve pounds and when I got approved for surgery I was 279. Now I'm pushing 263 and bmi is 36 but I'm approved now and surgery is in July so they don't Care at this point if bmi falls under 35, they would still do the surgery. I'm sure it won't though. I was told no pre op liquid diet though.
