Regular tortillas (as all bread products) may sit uncomfortably in your stomach this early out.. So if you want to eat a tortilla I would try the hard shell and just a bit.

What about rice?

:( rice is even worse on the stomach a lot of sleevers cannot tolerate it even after 6 months!

At 6 months I've had a bite or two of rice and it seems to be fine, but I've read here where people have major pain after eating it...

I think if you need to have something "carby"

Like that, the toasted tortilla would be better

Or a bit of sweet potato?

I just read my responses again and I feel like a grinch! :( now normally that doesn't bother me..:P

But I don't feel like saying you can't eat something. So my best advice? If you want some. I would say, like every new food right now just try a small bite or two and see how it treats you.

What about Kim's magic pops?! How long after post op could you eat them? I'm gonna buy some from Amazon, and I know it will be a while before I can eat them but I'm looking forward to that...and avocado smoosh. At this point, ANY real-ish food would be so amazing.... only 3 more weeks of liquid to go. Ugh.

I think those would be good as soon as you are cleared for food! They are a great bread alternative! I put everything in them :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
