victoria21 0 Posted December 17, 2006 I had a wedding to go to 1 month after surgery and I don't know if I will be at the solid food stage. I am going to Dr Ortiz for surgery, and it seems I should be at the solid food stage by then, but if I'm not, any ideas what to do? I will feel sort of weird not having food, but I don't think I can bring my own, so what do I do? Has anyone else run into this? :help:
flabuless 18 Posted December 17, 2006 see if they have soups...always a good option at weddings. other than that you should be on mushies at least so try to find the mushiest dish available and wash it down with a bit of water...just for appearances sake...I do realise that you shouldn't be drinking Water during mealtimes but on an occasion like this surely it wouldn't hurt. becky
kaye 0 Posted December 18, 2006 i had this experience 11 days after my surgery. i let the host know that i could only have liquids and they organised Soup for me. I didn't feel uncomfortable as they were glad i could attend their special occassion.
victoria21 0 Posted December 18, 2006 Thanks for your posts! I checked with the bride-they are doing a buffet and will have mashed potatoes, so I think at 4 weeks I should be at the mushy stage, so hopefully that will work. Otherwise I will just bring a Protein Shake or something; I would just rather not have the disucssion with the guests at my table why I'm not eating. Not that I mind talking about the band, but I'd rather not have the discussion at someone's wedding!
