OKSleever 144 Posted May 22, 2013 I'm looking at My Fitness Pal and noticing that my carbs are much higher than I would think. What I'm realizing is that I'm taking in around 100 cals and 20 FREAKING CARBS daily just in vitamins!! My Calcium chews (Celebrate bariatric) and chewable Multivitamins (Centrum) are killing me. I would love any suggestions-- do I have to take chewables (I swallow lots of other things in pill/capsule form, not sure if there's something magic about Calcium or multivitamins) and if not, what are people taking that don't have all this sugar? Thanks!
Chelenka 827 Posted May 22, 2013 I was told that you need to take calcium citrate not Calcium carbonate because you can't absorb the calcium carbonate once you've been sleeved. I use a liquid form that I buy at Whole Foods called Bluebonnet. It has 10 calories and 3 g carbs which are from fructose. My Centrum chewable multivitamin/mineral has 5 calories and less than one gram of sugar. I buy that at Walmart. pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.
Iniysa 157 Posted May 22, 2013 If you're taking other pills, I don't see why you CAN'T take your Vitamins in pill form too. I take chew-able because I dislike swallowing pills, half the time they feel like they get stuck and I throw them back up. (And I am not even sleeved yet!) Ask your doc for the best advise. Good luck!
