Sleeved May 15 and Regretting it

Recommended Posts

Okay' date=' yes you will. Now onto your regret. I was 260 when I was sleeved on March 4. Wore 44" pants and XXL shirts. I am now in 32" True Religion jeans and a Lucky Brand size large shirt. My weight is teetering around 199. Now, I don't care how delicious the sandwiches at Panera are, NOTHING tastes as good as these jeans and this shirt.[/quote']

Amazing! I love to hear results like that. I hope to be as happy as u are one day.

I too was sleeved on May 15th and I am feeling great. I think it is important to try and make sure you try not to put yourself in situations which will tempt you' date=' at least at this point.

I can't imagine what it would be like to not have such a supportive family, but you need to find you people who will support you because this is one of the best things you could have done for yourself and your health.

In time the extreme limitations will be gone and you will be able to figure out what you can and cannot have which will be the healthiest choices for you.

I wish you luck and all the support!!![/quote']

I really don't have strong family support. Its only been a week and whenever they see me struggle to drink my fluids, I'm told I'm so stupid for doing this to myself. My dad says I destroyed my body with the surgery. I hate it. Dad says, that **** ain't gonna work, you will lose some weight but gain it right back and he literally bet me $300 because he's so confident. I need a new family!

Sorry for venting I think I need a therapist.

You are NOT STUPID! You made a choice to lead a healthier lifestyle...to elongate your life! Don't let ANYONE make you feel that way!

I'm not sleeved' date=' but I am on this forum everyday, I go to support groups every week, and my doctor is very one-on-one with his patients. I've learned that these feelings of regret are very, VERY normal! It's such a HUGE adjustment to your lifestyle and the eating habits you've ALWAYS known. One day you will be able to eat those things you love, but only in moderation, never in the oversized portions that we serve ourselves, or that gets served to us at restaurants. This stage will pass. You will have moments of regret and a sense of loss. Allow yourself your human emotion, cry if you must for a little while, but then you need to put your big girl panties on and wipe them away. You will not do yourself any good dwelling on the should'a, could'a, would'as. Focus on your goals, focus on your post-op diet, and before you know it you will be able to eat the things you like. The additional plus is, you'll be a thinner, healthier you when you get there.

Good luck to you!!

[/quote']

Thank you for reminding me of what is important!

I really appreciate u taking time to talk to me.

You will be able in time to eat some what normal. You will be able to eat almost half a sandwich. Broccoli is very hard on your stomach' date=' I am three months out and I have only eaten broccoli twice. You need to give yourself and your stomach time to heal. It is a process that we all most walk through .I know that you want to eat normal, but take it slow. Some of the Soups I tried did not do well with. Tomato based Soups did not set well with me. You might want to stick with broth based soups starting out. My taste for foods also changed you may have to try alot of your favorite foods before you find something you can enjoy.[/quote']

What's a good Soup you like? Anything creamy? And where can I get it :)

Try some fat free Campbell's cream of chicken, broccoli cheese, or cream of mushroom. I'm May 16. This phase is really hard because hunger and cravings are starting ti return a little bit. My doc also allows hummus, thinned hot Cereal, and cauliflower pureed w skim milk now. You need to have a way to satisfy your requirements with some variety. And I know panera is nice but that just seems like torture! What about a library? I'm sorry you're feeling bad. This will pass.

Rainbow,

My blood is broiling and I wish I could talk to your parents right now to give them a piece of my mind!

I was sleeved on the 14th and am here for you if you ever need someone to talk to. This first 6 days has been hard, but it WILL get better and we CAN do this!!!!!

You have made a great decision for your future! You are wise beyond your years. It took me until age 52 to do something to become healthy!

Hang in there sweetie.......we DO BELIEVE in you!

Rainbow,

I was sleeved may 17 and it has been tough when the family sits down to eat and I am sipping my broth alone upstairs so that I don't have to look at their food. At this point I would even kill for a salad. But alas, broth it is. I would suggest you don't out yourself in a situation that will only depress you more, like sitting in panera this early on. We will enjoy food one day, just decent portions of it. I am eager to get to the chopped foods phase so I can chew my food rather than sip it again.

It might help if you don't put yourself in a place where you are surrounded by things you can't have and smell so strong! Can you go to the library to study instead?

Something to think about is that with this rapid weight loss your body's hormones are crazy and depression and feeling bad comes with it. I will be sleeved next Thursday. I am already trying to mentally prepare for this. You can do this!!! My parents can be pretty negative too. Surround yourself with positive people and people who believe in you. Stay away from places that will tempt you, or set off a pity party, or cause a homicidal event. We are all here for you for encouragement and support!!!

You're only a week out. The Soup you chose from Panera is very thick. When you try it again in another week and a half, you will see that it will go down without hurting. Right now, try some less thicker options or thin them out with water/skim milk. In a couple of weeks, you'll be so much happier with your choice;)

I don't know what's wrong with me right now. I'm feeling sad. I know it is all about mental strength and will power. But sitting here at Panera' date=' studying, and occasionally glancing at people eating their delicious sandwiches makes me jealous. I jealously cuss them out in my head. I tell my parents when I get sad but they are absolutely no help. They simply say well you are the stupid one you did this to yourself! :( they are right... I paid to get my sleeve and now Im regretting it. I lost 15 lbs on my own just with working out and hi prot low carb diet...

Will I ever be able to eat half a sandwich with ease again ? That is my question..

I had surgery may 15. I started week 2 of my liquid diet. I ordered Broccoli Cheddar and asked them to sift out the solids, I had about 4 tablespoons and my tummy hurts. I thought i could get away with the creamy Soup since its low cal, but i guess not. I'm feeling like I regret getting sleeved. I'm in a slump. Any advice.[/quote']

I was also sleeved on May 15th. No regrets but I can definitely relate. Day 4 and 5 were very hard on me. Its getting better day by day. Made one week today and my dr put me up to creamy Soups. I've never been so excited to eat food before. I won't cry if I never see broth again in my life. Gakkkk!!! Lost 11 pounds in one week...so I say nothing tastes as good as skinny feels. Keep going ; ) Don't give up!!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
