BlessedBeyondMeasure2012 296 Posted May 22, 2013 I love the stuff and a girl I work with makes it. They grind everything in a meat grinder so the particles in it are super fine. It has only fish, onions, tomatoes, peppers, cilantro, carrots and cucumbers in it. Anyone see anything wrong with it? I'm hoping I'm not fooling myself! lsereno 2,525 Posted May 22, 2013 I ate ceviche pretty early out. I had to wait a little while because anything acid really tore me up and first and the tomatoes and peppers were too much. But as soon as I could I ate it and still enjoy it. It's very low calorie and tasty. I've never had any made in a meat grinder. Just chopped fine. Also haven't had it with carrots. I guess its like any other recipe: varies by region and who's making it. A lot of the ceviche I've had also has avocado, but not so much that I worry about the calories. ISleevedIt 380 Posted May 22, 2013 Never had it, but it sure does sound good. Where do you get it?
AmMatthew 35 Posted May 22, 2013 Of course. Why couldn't you? You are like 2 months out. Be careful. I threw up my only time 'cuz of shrimps. But cheviche is great for the sleeve. 1 BlessedBeyondMeasure2012 reacted to this
nervousnellie 50 Posted May 23, 2013 Isn't there some sort of citrus juice in it? That would be my concern---the acid from the lime or lemon juice. But, it sounds like other people handle it well. Most that I have ever eaten have LOTS of citrus b/c that's what "cooks" (for lack of a better term) the seafood. Good luck!

BlessedBeyondMeasure2012 296 Posted May 23, 2013 I'm glad so many of y'all have had it with no problems! I am 8 weeks out but my surgeon still has me on a restricted diet until at least 12 weeks out. I know most people get released to a "regular" diet at 6 weeks but my surgeon has his on guidelines that he uses. I have eaten it a few times this week and it has been great! What I had was actually made with bass and not with shrimp, and it was oh so good!!!!
BlessedBeyondMeasure2012 296 Posted May 23, 2013 And I suppose that I have been lucky. My sleeve hasn't minded anything that I have put down it be it super spicy (I eat Tobasco or some sort of hot sauce on just about EVERYTHING) and it doesn't seem to mind the acidic stuff either. Maybe it would be nice for it to be bothered by something so I am not tempted by certain things but it doesn't and I'm working on growing my will power
