Jenn Andes 4 Posted May 22, 2013 I thought I would take a few moments to introduce myself. I am just beginning my journey and currently at 340 pounds. I've battled with my weight my whole life and I'm tired of being heavy. My husband is saying that he's very supportive and loves me for the way I am but I fear that when the changes occur he won't. I have two daughters they are 13 and 14 and are very supportive of my decision. When I started my journey I first had the idea that I was going to pursue the gastric band procedure and after visiting with my doctor he is suggested the gastric sleeve and I started to research that is well. I see the nutritionist next week to start my 6 month supervised diet. My doctor said once that and the psych evaluation was done I would get approved through my insurance. We are shooting for December for my surgery. At this point I am leaning more toward the sleeve, still just trying to get information.
ajeeprider 94 Posted May 22, 2013 Welcome. This is a great place to do some of your research. When I decided to have the surgery I was on this site often. Start reading all the forums and putting questions out there. We are always willing to share our experience! Good luck on your 6 month journey to join us sleevers! shelly13 27 Posted May 22, 2013 You are on the right path! I was sleeved April 10th and I am SO happy I did it! There is a lot of great, real-life experience on this site but remember that every one will respond differently to surgery and the lifestyle changes required to be successful. Good luck!
