Recommended Posts

I was sleeved May 8th! I am feeling great. Start mushies tomorrow. Lots of energy. Lost 13 pounds preop and 12 since surgery but no loss in past week. Still, living my sleeve. Finally feel in control of my food, not a slave to it!

High weight: 275

Surg weight After two week preop diet: 262

Current weight: 250

Enjoying how much time I have now that I'm not obsessing about food all the time. My family is happy, too. Can't wait to lose more and continue this journey.

Tell me your story!!! :)

I had my sleeve on May 16th.....only last week. I'm still pretty sore and not sleeping much cuz I can't seem to get comfy. I'm still pretty happy I went ahead with the surgery. my original date was April 8th but there were complications with the breathing tube that caused me to spend some time in the hospital but that still did not discourage me. I redid the liquid diet and had a successful surgery the 16th. I started out at 261....after liquids was 234 and now I'm 225. Pretty excited!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
