I was the same way, so many emotions; excited, nervous, happy, sad and disappointed that I let myself get to this point. Then, I just started being selfish for once in my adult life, I am doing something to take care of ME, it has been so many years since I thought about doing something for me, I want to be happy in my skin again, I want to see that smile that so many use to compliment me on, I want to look in the mirror without being disgusted with myself, I want my grandkids to all fit on my lap at once, I want my children which are 27, 24, and 15 to see me happy, truly happy and having fun. I want to enjoy the rest of my life, i want my husband to be able to pick me up, and wrap his arms completely around me, especially when dancing, My biggest worry, and this may seem so silly and maybe a little morbid, I don't want to tell people please don't take my picture because I'm too fat and uncomfortable in my own skin. I am looking forward to having my picture taken with my grandkids, which I finally did two weeks post-op, and I cried because I finally feel good about myself. I have only had one professional family photo taken, back in 1986! When I pass on I want people to remember me happy!

So embrace the new you, hold onto your dreams, and be selfish You so deserve it!!!

God bless you

I was sleeved on May 7th,

Pre-surgery 326 lbs

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
