My weight loss seems like its slowed way down. Dropped 15 lbs pretty fast now only dropping 1/2 lb every other day or so... lost 3lbs in a week. Walking, drinking plenty, eating pretty well. Uggggg... So disappointed for some reason. I was hoping to loose 30 lbs this first month, may fall short.

I was sleeved on the 19th May. I have gained 3 pounds since my Op. I'm having no problems drinking and getting in my Protein and I am walking everyday. I lost 126 pounds myself, in the 12 months before the op, but still have a way to go as I'm still 340 pounds. Before the op I plateaued for a few months and was looking forward to continuing to lose weight post op. I'm starting to feel low, as I expected to have started to lose weight by now.

I'm really impressed how other May sleevers have done, keep up the good work.

My surgery was May 16. My doc has me on liquids for 2 weeks, 'soft' foods (greek yogurt, cottage cheese, soft tofu) for week 3 - 5, then if I'm doing well I can progress to regular food. It's interesting to see the different guidelines that people are given - when you can eat, what you can eat, pre-op diets, etc.

I've lost 13 lbs post-op. Just started walking, trying to get in 1.5 miles a day to start with. It's getting easier to get liquids down, I can take slightly bigger sips now than in the beginning. No nausea, but am having some 'digestive issues' about 30 minutes after I have my morning shake and sometimes later in the day. Other than that, feeling better every day.

My mood has improved too - the first week I was feeling really low. Wondered if I'd done the right thing, was this going to work, etc., etc. The panic has gone now that I'm able to drink a little more, and I'm really looking forward to the next food stage.

Good luck to all my fellow May sleevers! I appreciate reading about everyone's experience, it's very encouraging to know that everyone is different and I'm not 'abnormal' in my weight loss pace or how I feel.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
