NewSetOfCurves 1,553 Posted May 20, 2013 How about a section on exercise and the body? There are lots of contradicting thoughts and ideas on here. Perhaps some basics about cardio and weight lifting, what it does for your body ( like improving circulation, more muscle = more fat burning, etc.). Maybe include some facts on the time of day that is best for these exercises as well as sample work out plans. Your samples should vary to include different lifestyles: home gym, gym membership, weekend warrior, and etc. 1 Alex Brecher reacted to this
No game 14,437 Posted May 20, 2013 One of the biggest talked about subjects here? Calories! And metabolism! Do I eat 600 calories for the next year or should I push over a thousand! Oops that might already be in the last book? 1 Alex Brecher reacted to this
SpaceDust 585 Posted May 20, 2013 Dealing with excess skin would be a good topic. In particular, an overview of cosmetic surgery would be excellent. What are some of the typical types of surgeries wls patients get, price ranges, recovery time? How long should you wait before getting it (I.e., should you wait a certain amount of time after you get to maintenance)? BrokeMyHalo 107 Posted May 20, 2013 Not enough books discuss "failing". I would love to read about revisions and starting over, the reality of it. 1 Alex Brecher reacted to this
BrokeMyHalo 107 Posted May 20, 2013 Also- social situations (eating out, traveling, etc) How do I turn down food at dinner parties. We came to someone's house for dinner, how do I explain I can't eat what they worked so hard to make... Or can't even finish 1/2 of it. 1 Alex Brecher reacted to this
Alex Brecher 10,515 Posted May 21, 2013 Thank you very much for your awesome feedback! Keep the ideas coming.
SpaceDust 585 Posted May 21, 2013 Another idea might be a section that deals with what happens when you get to maintenance and staying there from a mental perspective. For example, some people are naturally afraid to up their calories/change their diet to stop losing. Others see reaching goal as license to resume poor eating habits and start regaining. Other thoughts for sections: Post surgical depression - what to expect, coping mechanisms "I'm a slow loser" - setting realistic expectations, etc Slowing of weight loss and stalls as you get further out from your surgery - how to keep your head in the game Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 using VST
Indigo1991 1,612 Posted May 21, 2013 How about "Learning to listen to your body" ? This could look at hunger versus head hunger versus no hunger; understanding want full feels like; and reading the signals around your new stomach. It might also cover the topic of constipation....
