Red_lips_and_confidence 148 Posted May 20, 2013 I have PCOS and was actually wondering this same question!! I even talked to my mom about it today! ITS HELL. Im pre OP and just this week EVEN ON BIRTH CONTROL I was almost a week late ( about gave me a heart attack) I just dont know when its gonna end uhg! I was curious too if it would even itself out or if i should stop taking my pills and get an IUD put in so I wont gain weight with the pills even more after surgery. Hope you find your answer! Im curious too!
lizv123 389 Posted May 20, 2013 I have endometriosis and had awful periods. Irregular and cramps that would leave me in the bed. I switched to an estrogen free pill, micronor, and haven't had a period in 135 days. I'm in heaven! It's 98% effective where most pills are 99%, but we're supposed to use a barrier method anyway for the first 18-24 months post so I went for it. Best decision I've made
Olivia23 68 Posted June 6, 2013 I had horrible periods also and birth control didn't help any. I finally had endometrial ablation done and I couldn't be happier. Of course I plan on not having any more children. Pretty much they burn the lining of your uterus. It sounds painful but it's not. No more periods for me!! Best thing I've ever done. I had super heavy periods with big clots and terrible cramps. Now my period is really light. I don't need more than a liner or thin pad. Whoo Hoo! mandyrenee82 59 Posted June 7, 2013 I have pcos and hadn't had a period in almost 2 years. I spotted the day after my surgery. 4/16 Nothing major. Three days ago, it started with a vengeance. It's like the Texas chainsaw massacre is going on in there. Tmi I know. Worst period I've had in my life and its not let up any yet. Surgeon said estrogen would slam me after I lost so much and restart them. I'm down 60 pounds and he was right. I didn't miss this at all bit glad my body is trying to get back to normal.
