I was 8 months post OP on the 17th. I hit onderland, and the photo i attached is exactly one year apart. My husband puts his truck in a truck show every year. The weight loss really didn't stand out to me until i compared these side by side. Amazing! Worth every moment!

Are you losing on a steady basis? I am 5 mos out, nervous i will stop losing at 6 mos since first 6 is so "critical". How many calories do you intake daily. Great job!

5 months - 50 lbs down???

you are doing great :)

never compare yourself to others weight - don't you dare!!!! :)

you will not stop losing at 6 months - or even slow down

just keep up the good job with your Protein first, watching your carbs - small portions, chewing and eating very slowly

continue to drink your Water, not drink when you are not supposed to

do everything your wise mind tells you to do!!!!

keep up the good job/work :)

congrats on your weight loss

take care

kathy

I have stalled along the way. I felt defeated at 5 months...stalled forever! Just remember this is a lifestyle change, and a commitment. You will get there! I don't really track calories, if i need to snack its nuts or beef Jerky. For 8 months out i feel i should be at the 100lb mark post OP, but I'm not and that's ok, but i will be soon (hopefully). My surgeons office told me you will continue to lose for your 1st year, hope this helps!....does anyone else get "hangry" grumpy when hungry as well?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
