Did anyone get lightheaded early on after surgery? I felt so good after surgery that I was out running errands starting the day I was discharged from the hospital. Now I wasn't spending hours at the mall but I ran to one store one day and went to a funeral home another to pay respects for a friend. I woke up this morning and I was exhausted, sore and very lightheaded all day. I am wondering if it was a side effect of overdoing it or maybe not getting enough Water in??

Both? LOL Yes I can feel a bit woozy at times. Other times I feel perfectly normal.

highly likely just overdoing it and not enough Protein, Water could be part of it too.. it's hard at first when you are feeling better, to not over do it but try to take it easy, your body needs to rest. Remember you have just had major surgery and your body is trying to figure out what happened, and how to make the proper adjustments to keep you healthy. Just try to lay low for a few days, walking but take it easy.

I was having the same issue last week (about 7 weeks out) and found out it was low blood pressure combined with not eating enough. I only manage to get about 400 calories in per day and they want me to eat at least 600-800 preferred 1200.. I do what I can, but try to eat the highest Protein stuff I can for at least 3 meals and then 2 Snacks with veggies.

You probably overdid it. Make sure you get your fluids & Protein in..and your rest the first few weeks. Best of luck to you. Take care!

I went through a spell of light headed...that led to falling alot and that led to an overnight stay in the hospital. It was 6 months out. I was dehydrated and my bp and potassium is low. I;m on low BP meds now and potassium every night in pill form that dissolves. I still get dizzy but I know I'm not getting enough Water. Up your water intake and see if it helps.

I've found that I get very lightheaded post surgery, particularly from getting up after being seated. Since my blood pressure has dropped a decent amount, doc thinks it is related to that.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
