After having the LapBand installed in January 2010, losing over 100 pounds, then gaining all but 30 of it back when the band severely slipped (solid food intolerance meant that high-calorie frappuccinos were my best friend!)...I'm more than stoked to have had the band removed in March and my sleeve surgery scheduled for June 7th! Can't "weight" to see the success that you all have been seeing! I've got my cupboard stocked with Protein, Vitamins, sippy cups, blender shaker bottles, etc. - let's go! P.S. Zaine20 9 Posted May 19, 2013 I am also a revision from Lap-Band. I had my Lap-Band put in January 2011 and it was taken out at the end of November 2012 because it had slipped. I too could not get any solids down. I lost 75 lbs after surgery and regained 60 lbs within a 6 month period (bread is the devil!). I am now on my pre-op diet and will be having surgery on June 6th. Zaine20 9 Posted June 14, 2013 Haha! Maybe you should change it to singingsleever! I don't know about you but I am feeling great and so glad I got this done. I am babying my sleeve right now but after 6 weeks we should be clear from any leaks. With the band, there was always fear that it would slip or wear a hole in the stomach. And, I am so glad this is permanent!!! I got the band because if anything went wrong, it could be taken out. Well, I am so glad it was taken out.
