I was sleeved 5-14, I have one week left of liquids then I start puréed foods. The week I start is the same week we are going on vacation. Do I was wandering if anyone minded sharing recipes so I can prepare what to take? My email is valmhughes@icloud.com. Thanks everyone for all the support along my journey :)

I did a lot of puréed tuna and chicken salad. Another one of my favorite things was puréed chicken with taco sauce, a little cheese and sour cream. You can do the same thing with refried Beans. If you're going away, you can take the little cups of applesauce, baby food fruits, cottage cheese (I used the whipped at that stage). I also made some meals in the crockpot for my husband that had a lot of sauce, then just puréed my portion. Ricotta cheese with a little sauce and mozzarella heated up in the microwave is like the insides of lasagna. Hope this helps!

I have read a few people puree Wendy's chili. I made lentil Soup and chili, portioned out 1/2 cup servings into zip baggies and froze them....all ready to defrost and puree.

I made Moosewood's Butternut Squash Soup,

herbed peas (that I then put in the food processor),

stewed pears,

applesauce,

lasagna (homemade Tomato sauce with lots of herbs, layered with ricotta mixed with salt, pepper, one egg, and Parmesan cheese, and then bake it for 15 minutes in an oven or toaster oven. I constructed those in a small oven-safe bowl,in single portion sizes)

Buffalo chicken salad- 1 can of chicken (or a small chicken breast) in the food processor with 2T blue cheese, 2T celery, Franks hotsauce to taste, and lite Ranch dressing to get to the right consistency.

I also pureed the dinners that my husband was having, sometimes.

Stew beef or pork cooked in the crock pot for a LONG TIME pureed really really well. Then, you can also puree up the carrots and onions that were in there as your veggie.

At the beginning I ate 2T Protein, 1T fruit, 1T veggie at each meal.

Good luck!

For something quick you can buy the Chunky Soups and Stews, and puree them. I left a little texture to them because i think the pureed texture is just gross, lol. But I had no problem with the pulsed soups. And don't forget eggs; make a quiche.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
