For me my puree stage is mixed with soft foods like scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, and such. These foods are so soft that after I have chewed it 15 times it is basically pulverized in my mouth. Remember you need 3 parts to make it "Soft foods" = Soft, Moist, and Tender.

Is your puree mixed with soft foods?

Here is what I ate today.

BF- Cottage cheese

Lunch- Smoked salmon (lox) with cream cheese & capers

Dinner- Grilled artichokes & hollandaise

Ooo I almost forgot to tell you that while I was on liquids I did have a lot of Tomato Soup with shredded cheddar in it. That seems to be my fallback on this stage too.

I'm on puree and haven't eaten a whole lot yet. However, I made deviled eggs last night and they taste sooo good! (hard boiled eggs are on my list--i just chew them up a lot).

Otherwise, I blended some tuna salad and that was fine. I also blended chili--I didn't love it. The only other thing I have eaten is refried Beans mixed with taco sauce and greek yogurt with cheese on top. It was good!

I am 12 days out and have been eating a lot of Greek Yogurt, low fat rigatta cheese with a little Tomato sauce mixed in, mashed potato with fat free gravy, and mushed vegies.

I hope to be cleared Monday although I broke down and has a scrambled egg and later a spoon of hummus! HUGE difference. Doesn't feel like I am obsessing about clears.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
