swimsuits that cover loose skin?

Recommended Posts

Glad to see I'm not the only one trying to figure out how to go swimming without being mistaken for a partially-deflated beach ball. :P My inner thighs are so droopy that my old, skirted swimsuit can't hide it, plus it's a bit loose on me overall now.

Thanks for the suggestions!

You could get a swim shirt to wear for "sun protection". Kills 2 birds with one stone.

Yes...... I have found several websites with those and, along with swim shorts, I think that will be perfect. Many thanks to everyone who responded.

I know this is an old topic, but relevant to me. I have super skinny arms, excess skin on belly and thighs. Breast, well, they are a mess. :(

Check out surf wear. I wear a long-sleeved rash guard when I swim because I get cold.

Amazon has lots of options as well. I have been searching, I like board shorts and wear a sports bra type top under rashguard t-shirt, long sleeve shirt, or tank top. It all depends on the sun exposure. I am excited they are coming out with more woman's shorts options. Not a skirt type girl but nothing one piece fits properly anyway.

The rashguard swim shirts are so nice because unlike cotton they don't weigh you down.

The only issue, I'm having right now is finding the sports bra type top to go under it all. I prefer something that can un hook instead of going over my head due to an old softball arm. Let's say I have not been blessed enough to fit into the ones I have found. Last years, is not an option. It's a good problem to have.

You may have to time travel to the 1920s to find bathing suits with sleeves and pants

Actually not. There are quite of few options these days.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned H2O but that catalog has a lot of different options. If you look at surfing clothes and suites there are all kinds of lengths and variations, too.

You can find a ton of rashguard/sufer type stuff on Amazon. LL Bean actually has some cute stuff too.

If you google rashguard you can find all kinds of cute options.

When I am at the Water this year I will be boating mostly so these options are perfect.

I got a set from Coolibar. If you wait for sales it isn't too bad. I got a swim shirt and a pair of Capri pants with an attached skirt. I wanted to hide due to weight but all my friends loved them and all got some too! They wear great in the Water and dry fast when you get out.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
