According to them you can puree your meets and such. What I did was stuck to things like yogurt and Beans. At about the end of week 4 I ate some ground beef no issue. I also ate lots of cheese. I was in no way going to puree some meat or anything for that matter.

It was 3 weeks of liquid, it had to go through a strainer. Weeks 4-6 were soft foods, yogurt, refried Beans (my savior) eggs, soft Proteins like tuna and salmon. If all is well after 6 weeks, no dietary restrictions but was recommended to slowly add foods.

I am so happy with Dr. Nicholson!

Best of luck to you!

LOL! I agree, I just couldn't get on board with having to puree my meats or foods. In all honesty, I found the post op diet quite easy.

LOL so funny! I am trying to think of Thanksgiving dinner and whether I could find something to eat there in week 4-5 or so. I will be at someone else's house and unable to control what they are serving though.

In all honesty regardless you will likely feel differently after surgery about food. I could care less what we eat for thanksgiving or even if food is served. Not that I don't like T Day food but if I was told we were not doing a T-Day meal this year it would not bother me one bit. I just don't look at food in that way anymore.

I am 6 weeks post op today and just finished with weeks 4-6 of soft foods. I never pureed anything. My daily meals have been like this: breakfast- 1 scrambled egg with laughing cow queso/chipotle wedge and 1 tbsp. of ground turkey sausage; lunch - whole foods chicken salad (yummm) just chewed really well, tuna with light mayo, deli turkey wrapped around string cheese and warmed in the microwave; dinner - same as lunch...I've had chipotle a couple of times and just get a bowl without rice and eat on it for a few meals.... I also snack on greek yogurt, cottage cheese. I had ground beef last week with no problems. I think Thanksgiving would be super easy at that stage. Little bit of turkey cut up real well and mashed potatoes. I wish I thought of food differently than before surgery. I think I have an Iron sleeve because nothing has upset my stomach so far (knock on wood).

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
