lsereno 2,525 Posted May 18, 2013 Hi all, I posted in the Tell Your Gastric Sleeve Surgery Story thread, but wanted to post here too. It's my two year surgiversary today. Looking forward to another year at goal. I love my sleeve. In honor of my surgiversary, I have finally updated my profile pic, status, and added my surgery story and goal pics to my profile. No game 14,437 Posted May 18, 2013 Lynda! Congratulations You look so tiny I just went and peeked at your profile page, looking good in those skinny jeans
lsereno 2,525 Posted May 18, 2013 Thanks Laura-Ven! I'm still surprised that I fit them. When I fold them after washing they always look too small. Lynda

M2G 1,836 Posted May 24, 2013 Lynda, you have done a wonderful job! Congrats on your two-year anniversary...wow time flies when you are having fun, right? Looked at all the photos and you look GREAT!!! If you want (no pressure) I would love it if you would share your "numbers" from your blood work. I did blood work at 6, 9, 12, and 18 months but then my surgeon said no to any labs at 2 years because he was satisfied with what he saw. Now that my 3 year is approaching (this fall) I will ask for labs because I just like to "know" ...ya know? You don't have to if you don't want to just a thought. lsereno 2,525 Posted May 24, 2013 Boy there are a lot and it is complicated get the results because some have more than one set of numbers. Mine are all in the normal range, except B Vitamins. My doctor cut the amount I am to take for those from daily to 3 times per week. Other Vitamins remain the same. Here's my Vitamin regime: Kirkland Calclium Citrate with D: 3 - 2 times per day. Nature Made Super Vitamin B Complex: 1 - 3 times per week Spring Valley Vitamin B12 2500, sublingual: 1 - 2 times per week Kirkland Vitamin D3: 1per day Kirkland Multivitamin with minerals: 1 - two times per day (No Iron because I'm post menopause) I've copied the list of blood tests below. If there is one or two you'd like the results for, let me know. It would take a couple of hours to copy and paste in all the results. In addition, I will be having a bone density scan in the next few months. HEMOGLOBIN A1C GLUCOSE, RANDOM CREATININE, SERUM, WITH GLOMERULAR FILTRATION RATE POTASSIUM, SERUM SODIUM, SERUM BLOOD UREA NITROGEN, SERUM CARBON DIOXIDE, SERUM PHOSPHORUS Calcium, SERUM MAGNESIUM, SERUM Vitamin D, 25-HYDROXY PTH (PARATHYROID HORMONE) ALKALINE PHOSPHATASE AST (ASPARTATE AMINOTRANSFERASE), SERUM ALT (ALANINE AMINOTRANSFERASE), SERUM ALBUMIN, SERUM PREALBUMIN CBC (COMPLETE BLOOD COUNT) WITHOUT DIFFERENTIAL FERRITIN INR (INTERNATIONAL NORMALIZED RATIO) - PROTHROMBIN TIME, ON WHOLE BLOOD Vitamin A VITAMIN B12 FOLIC ACID, RED BLOOD CELL Iron, SERUM TRANSFERRIN FASTING LIPID PANEL
M2G 1,836 Posted May 24, 2013 Oh my goodness DO NOT copy and paste everything. LOL! I didn't think about that part of it. I was mostly just curious. I have a blog so at my 1 year and my 18 month I wrote a list of the most important ones and posted them. I was concerned when said don't pull labs at the 2 year but then I figured if HE wasn't worried then why should I be? Thanks Lynda!
M2G 1,836 Posted May 25, 2013 This is copied and pasted from my blog: 1 year labs (like you I'm sure there was "more" information on the 4+ pages of paper but this is all I was personally concerned with ) 1 Year Post-op 18 Months Post-op Glucose 91 81 (normal is 65-99) Creatinine .64 .62 (normal is .57-1.00) Sodium 134 135 (normal is 135-145) Calcium 8.8 9.0 (normal is 8.7-10.2) Protein 6.5 6.3 (normal is 6.0-8.5) Cholesterol 126 129 (Total number, normal is 100-199) HDL (good) 50 54 (normal is >39) LDL (bad) 64 64 (normal is 0-99) Tryigycer. 62 54 (normal is 0-149) Iron (TIBC) 277 315 (normal is 250-450) Iron Serum 53 141 (normal is 35-155) B12 1929 1629 (normal is 211-946) this was considered high but he said that it to be expected with supplementation Originally I was quite worried about iron but it seems to be ok so I have not done any type of iron supplementation. I'm very interested to see what my labs are at 3 years post-op!!
lsereno 2,525 Posted May 25, 2013 OK Here's mine. I didn't see a Protein test, but they did say mine is good, so they tested it somehow. Also didn't see the Iron (TIBC) test. Test 1 year 2 year Glucose 82 81 Creatinine .62 .48 Sodium 146 142 Calcium 9.99 9.3 Cholesteral 223 215 HDL 73 77 LDL 131 129 Trigycycer 76 64 Iron Serum 93 103 B12 >1000 >1000 1 M2G reacted to this
lsereno 2,525 Posted May 25, 2013 Well I can't make mine look nice, but you get the idea.
M2G 1,836 Posted May 25, 2013 Well that all looks really good Lynda! I am trying to think if they pulled all these same labs BEFORE I was sleeved, and I'm thinking that they *must* have but maybe didn't offer me a copy? I've had to ask for copies each time because I wanted to (sort-of) keep track (I'm not a medical professional) but I just wanted to kind of keep tabs on things, ya know? Maybe I will ask at my 3 year visit if they have the BEFORE the sleeve numbers just for my own curiosity. I know my cholesterol, HDL LDL, blood pressure, tryglycerides and just about everything you can test for was all NORMAL before surgery (I did not have any obesity-related health risks at the time of surgery) but I just am wondering now how much my numbers are different than they were 3+ years ago. Def. will ask for the BEFORE numbers, !!!
