LonghornNiner 75 Posted May 18, 2013 How would you know if you stretched your stomach back to it's original size? Like what would be the symptoms? I'm curious because I am 2 months post op and I am eating like I'm a year post op. I am getting in good portions with no issue and even though I am continuing to lose weight very slowly, I have this worried feeling that I might have stretched my stomach some. I feel fine so I guess I am just curious. Thanks in advance.

kulita 243 Posted May 18, 2013 You can stretch it out but it will NEVER be the size it once was~ This came directly from the Dr. Cirangle with is attributed to developing the vertical sleeve and it's improvements. Also, I have been unable to actual find medical literature to prove that this does exist. In my blog I actually have a video that shows both a new sleeve and a sleeve that is a few years old. You can see that it is bigger but it is nowhere near the size that it used to be. http://www.verticals...ur-new-stomach/
WorkItOutWoman 185 Posted May 18, 2013 How much are you eating and what are you eating? Some foods definitely go down easier than dense Proteins.< /p>
SpaceDust 585 Posted May 18, 2013 Your stomach can't stretch to a hugely significant degree because the fundus (the really stretchy part of your stomach) is mostly removed in a normal sleeve. As it heals and "matures" your stomach may get to a capacity of 1-1.5 cups, but your previous capacity was something like 5-6 cups, with much more stretch available to cram in extra. If you are eating slider foods you can eat a lot more, though, because those don't linger in your stomach.
