PGee 318 Posted May 23, 2013 IS ANYONE EMBARRASSED TO TELL PEOPLE YOU ARE HAVING THE SURGERY? I WORK WITH A LOT OF PEOPLE AND HAVEN'T TOLD ANYONE. I HAVEN'T EVEN TOLD ALL MY SISTERS OR MY BEST FRIEND. I GUESS I'M A LITTLE EMBARRASSED AND ALSO DONT WANT EVERYONES OPINION OF WHETHER I SHOULD DO IT OR NOT. I ALMOST FEEL LIKE IM HIDING THIS HUGE BAD SECRET. I am still pre-op, getting all the appointments in to satisfy the insurance...........I have told my sister (who had an RNY) and my husband......I don't have children, and I haven't told the rest of the family, because I saw how "supportive" they were when she had her surgery.........right now don't have any plans to tell anyone at this point, but that could change........if it would help someone, then I would. I have found when there is a major change in someone's life, people tend to focus on that, and I'd rather not have to defend my actions or have them focus on this...........good luck! 1 ready2inspire reacted to this
