The Dreaded 3 Week Stall

Recommended Posts

Around the time I was 3 weeks post-op, I began a stall. It has lasted for 17 days now. When do these things usually end???

I asked my surgeon's office and they told me to do a couple of days of liquids to try to get things moving along again, so I guess that is what I'm going to be doing. Not happy about it, but if it gets me on the right track again, then that's great.

What has your experience been?

I remember reading somewhere that a persons nutritionist said to increase Water and Protein and after she did that, the scale started moving again

I'm getting at least 70g of Protein and like 80+oz of Water per day. Maybe I need to increase that. Today I'm doing a liquid day and getting in 104g of protein. I'll try this for a day or two and see if there is a change. Thanks! :)

Might have something to do with me losing 49 lbs since March 25th and my body trying to play catch-up? Maybe. I don't know. Annoying, though.

I was just thinking yes it could be...but then a thought bubble popped up and said "What a terrible thing to deal with!" ;)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
