Did some type of issue arise recently to make this recent change of the rules. I never saw an issue in the past... I guess a few members have been complaining about the women posting?

I think it's also from women complaining about men posting in the women's forum. Not everyone complains.... I think it was a small but vocal minority.

So women are allowed to read all of the post in this forum but if they have something informative to add they are not allowed?

No, they are not allowed to post in the man room. If you want them to be able to join the discussion and add things that are informative, then there are plenty of other places to post stuff besides here.

Ummm... This is laura-ven's "friend" I'm a male she said I can use her profile to post here' date=' so yeah. She wanted me to say that she doesn't mind the men posting in the woman's area,

After all everyone can still SEE IT. So I... umm..

I mean she wouldn't post anything so private that she wouldn't wanted shared with both sexes..

Ok later dudes!

I gotta do something manly now like shave my chest and pump some Iron.[/quote']

Uh....shaving your chest is the opposite of manly. A manly man lets the jungle grow. I will do some manscaping, but not on my chest. Although next Halloween I may carve out a man-o-lantern.

For awhile there, there were posts in the powder Room talking about issues relating to women's boobs post-op. In a majority of these threads, there were several inappropriate comments made from several male participants. I'm sure I was guilty of crossing the line on this. I believe the anonymous nature of internet forums make some people entitled to post whatever they want without repercussion. On the other side of the coin, a lot of people are WAAAAAAY too over sensitive to people's posts, me included.

I think it is a good thing, though, to have separate areas. If you want the opinion of both genders, there are several forums where you can make your post. Just because someone is oversensitive doesn't mean they need to be subjected to childish replies to an issue they may be struggling with. If you are of the opposite gender and there is an thread you want to share on, create a new thread in one of these general forums addressing it.

Women's boobs

I just saw this (create a link to the thread) thread in the powder Room and wanted to share that after my wife had her VSG, she also had this concern. Here is what she did ...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
