How much are you taking? Has it worked for you? I have been taking 4,000 MCG. Come to find out I need 1000 MCG to get 1 MG.

I've been taking Biotin for one week. 2500 mcg twice a day. I'm still shedding but maybe now quite as much. I'm interested to know how long the difference might take.

I started taking 5000 mcg per day, two months prior to surgery. I'm almost 3 years out and still take Biotin two or three times a week. I never did lose my hair, who knows if it was the Biotin or I was just lucky, but I wanted to err on the side of caution!!

I fortunately have not lost any hair. My sister and I were sleeved on the same day, feb 6. She has started loosing hair. My family doc told me any surgery can cause Hair loss. My sister has thick curly hair and mine is fine hair. It is not obvious that she has lost any. ????

I'm taking 5000mcg per day. Other post-op patients in my Support Group told me it takes 4-6 weeks of takign the Biotin to see it slow the hair loss/promote new growth, so be patient.

I'm still waiting to be sleeved but I have started to take Biotin. I take 5000mcg a day and its in a dissolvable tablet you put under your tongue but I don't take it this way. The tablet is so small so I just swallow it. I don't like to put it under my tongue because for some reason I end up with bad facial pain for the rest of the day.

I'm taking Natrol Biotin 10,000 mcg and have been for 3 years. I'm set to be sleeved on July 15, 2013.

I'm also using Centrum Flavor Burst drink mix and I mix it with my shakes.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
