Healthier2day1227 326 Posted May 16, 2013 I was just wondering, from the post op people who are farther down the road, if there was so much extra skin that cosmetic surgery was required? I expect the skin to be a little lose I mean come on it would have to be after such a big loss but I was wondering if it was something you could live with or not and if there's any tips you might have. magpie30 187 Posted May 17, 2013 I guess that really depends on how much weight you have to lose, and how and where you carry it. Someone who is 500lbs will have much more loose skin than someone who is at 250. It will also depend on what you consider to be an acceptable amount of loose skin. sixbuttons 102 Posted May 17, 2013 My doctor told me it's not just how much you weigh. It depends on if you smoke, drink, etc...those things all affect how loose the skin will be.

I have a high tolerance for body flaws after having two kids and already have loose skin on my belly. But was wondering about other areas too. Most of the after pics I see people look pretty good so that gives me hope. Thanks!

hopeliveshere 294 Posted May 17, 2013 I asked my doctor this as well and he also told me that it depends on how much weight you have to lose. he also said that someone younger would have less loose skin than someone older as it depends on your skin elasticity. He said most of the time the biggest issue he sees is that the women will need a breast lift.

So it seems like maybe it's not so bad
