bethxxx 304 Posted May 16, 2013 Hi everyone. Just wondering if anyone knows how to tell if their tummies are fat or loose skin? Im 20 years old and started at 247lbs now I'm 166lbs and I have about 22lbs to lose. Anyway I still have a sort of bulging stomach and I'm hoping its fat so I can lose it. Any tips appreciated
BloomingFaith 29 Posted May 16, 2013 I don't know for sure to be honest. But, I have watched a bunch of those Fat to thin shows and the surgeries of skin removals. Many, many of them weighed the cut off skin (yuck!) and it was 20-40 pounds!!!! I know you can tell under the arms or thighs by pinching it and seeing how this it is. If it's skin on skin, obviously it's all skin. Not sure how to tell on the tummy.

I don't seem to have loose skin on my arms thankfully.
enigmachik 403 Posted May 16, 2013 Some people have like 20 lbs of skin, but not most people. Most people who lose weight and have the skin surgically removed only have between 4 to 9 lbs of skin removed.
aquitenonnymouse 206 Posted May 16, 2013 I'd guess if it's a thin apron, it's skin. If when you pinch it your fingers are more than 1/2" apart, there's fat there.

I know I wouldn't have 20lbs of skin because I can see its not there lol
