I am pre op I have read where alot of you guys are talking about little energy. Are you able to tolerate or have any energy boosters. How would that effect you if you we're to try it. 5 hour powers coffee ect

I have been wondering that too. I would LOVE to have my mocha Monster. It may be a while, but I will ask my Nut what she thinks. I will try and get back as soon as I have a responce! :)

My response may be unorthodox.

I say take a 5 hour energy if you need it. After all, it is just a high dose of B12 and niacin. Drink coffee if you find you like the taste and can tolerate the caffeine after surgery. I enjoy about 1 cup of coffee a day. In fact, i am sipping on 100% Kona brew ( the best - so smooth and bold!) right now while listening to birds chirp and waves crash in Hawaii.

That being said, give your stomach time to heal before taking any extra energy drink, at least 6 weeks. Maybe longer. It depends on how well *you* respond to it. I do not drink energy drinks any longer as a post op, but that is just me. I used to really enjoy the diet monster and rockstar 16 oz cans prior in life. Now I would have to say I do not need them nor want he chemicals that are contained in them.

I finally started taking my usual 5 hour energy each morning about 3 weeks ago. Until then I wasn't sure I could actually swallow them because I think they taste nasty. I have always had one each morning up until surgery.

I am very happy to have my morning friend back:) It has caused no problem and the extra energy is a welcome change to the 6 weeks I went without them.

I use a natural energy booster. Its Vitamins with minerals. Its called Nature's Way( Alive). When I take it, it gives me such a boost. It does not taste bad either. Its liquid so it hits me fast.

The man never gets a cold virus anything and we have 4 kids... I bought the liquid and it didnt rest well with me but then again neither did the vitamins.! i did stumble across alive womens.. To big but i bought a pill crusher and I just put it in V8 or crystal lite

I buy the costco box of 5 hours. It's not much to drink and gives me a boost :)

I drink the hell out of 5 hour energies even though i have energy already. I guess I have a new addiction to making sure I am on the go continuously, lol.

I do know what you mean about enjoying the taste and experience of energy drinks like 5 hour energy. It is sometimes an acquired taste that is enhanced over time. I like the occasional 5 hour energy as a post op, but do not drink these things nearly as much as pre op. be a little cautious about overdoing these though as your body can build tolerance towards them fairly quickly. Now I believe the best energy comes from a clean diet, a good old fashioned workout session and a restful 7-8 hours of sleep.< /p>

This looks like a really good green drink with plenty of fruits and vegetables. And it is a good Multivitamin source. Thanks for sharing this as not only a good energy drink, but also a good source of fruits and vegetables that are hard to eat for most post ops in the first 6 months. This would have been awesome to take as a Multivitamin after surgery instead of the bariatric Vitamins (yuck!) Cheers!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
