that stuff is horrible (and i'm not picky)! I bought a whole case from GNC just after my vsg, tried two, and had my husband return the rest. I got my Protein from Unjury checken Soup and unjury unflavored powder put in beef broth. good luck!

Not a fan of the isopures, but if you mix it with some Powerade zeros they aren't all that bad, plus you get your fluids in too. Beats pouring them down the drain.

There's a good reason many people call it "Isopuke"...haha

Wow Isopure has not been that bad for me. I can not stand anything milky right now so besides the Unjury chicken broth or the unflavored everything else is a waste for me.

I mixed my isopuke with a box of SF strawberry Jello. I cup boiling Water and 1 cup alpine punch isopuke for the "cold" water. It tames the taste. You can still taste it a little but its 100x better than drinking it out of the bottle. I spent so much money on it I didnt want to waste it. But I promise you I won't be buying anymore of that nasty stuff.

I only could do the grape. I would mix it poweraid zero or a bit of Water. I reasoned they may not taste the best but they sure helped me get my Protein in the early weeks post op. I just kept telling myself "suck up buttercup and drink that s**t!

I did heal fast so I'm glad I did.

Jessie, have you tried the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken broth? I like it pretty well when I'm on liquids.

I love Isopur - but you have to be careful about the flavors. Grape and peach work for me but the mountain pine does not. I find it easier than the shakes to get down. I do 1/2 bottle of isopur in the morning and premier Protein shake in the afternoon. This gives me 50g of Protein from my drinks.

Isopur is much easier for me to get down than the shakes. It can take me 30 minutes to get a shake down and I had surgery in December.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
