Well I'm not losing, that's the thing - for 22 days I have worked out vigorously 6 days a week and kept my calories below 750 and I haven't lost and I gain when I eat "normal" caloric levels.

I would keep closer watch on the carb count (reduce) and Water intake increase). With that much activity you might be packing on muscle and muscle holds water. Are you losing inches?

If you are lifting weights, then you may be gaining muscle - and it may only seem like you are not losing weight. Or your body may be hanging onto every calorie because you're working out so much.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. This is a marathon, not a sprint. And everyone has to figure out how their body responds to different caloric intake, weight training, and cardio.

I personally have been gained back 3 pounds 2 weeks ago - and have been stuck there for the past 17 days. I've been walking harder and longer than ever before, but just can seem to start the downward tick on the scale. It's pretty damn frustrating. And I know that I haven't eaten anything more or different over the past 2 weeks.

But this morning, I hopped on the scale and was down just over 1 lb. Hopefully the weight loss is starting again.

I've been through these 2 week periods several times in the past 5 months and I am assuming that my body is just getting use to it's new weight level and caloric intake, then it realizes that this is the new normal and starts the weight loss again.

Man! I am so envious of those lucky people that report 25 lb/moth weight loss. To all those that have lost 100 lbs in 6 months, I salute you - and have a standing offer to take you to McDonald's for lunch. Muahahahahaha

My NUT told me that I should be at 1000 calories, so I don't think the calories are the problem..

I know the feeling - although not the "working out" part!

Just re-focus since you are not losing. I have been in a stall for what seems like an eternity but at least I am not gaining. I really would like to lose 12 more pounds to be at my personal goal but 7 more pounds would be great, too.

I aim to eat 600-800 calories a day.

@ Pantala, yeah, that's why I'm freaking out, I always try to keep my carbs below 35! I'm not just a slow loser, I'm almost a non-loser, no matter what I do and over the last nearly 3 years, I've tried it all!! People advocate high calories, low calories, moderate carbs, extreme low carb, focusing on weight training, focusing on cardio, drinking gallons of Water, getting plenty of sleep and blah blah BLAH! I have done it all. It took me 6 months to lose 15 pounds, and that was before I had my backslide of the last year.

Try for consistency. Target eating 1000-1100 kcals a day for a week or so and keep up the exercise. I'm thinking that you really need to get your metabolism in a good place. I do think that your body is trying to hold on to all the energy it can, and your aren't losing it. Building muscle isn't a bad thing either. Can you check what your body fat % is? Might surprise you. Hang in there and don't freak. It will happen, you just have to outsmart you body a bit.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
