Was sleeved April 30th. Down 44 pounds and two dress sizes. Of the 44 pounds 15 was pre op. I do get hungry quite a bit, but I can't eat a lot. Guess that's a plus....

Sleeved April 29. Pre-surgical weight was 278. Lost 50 pounds in 9 weeks. Working out consistently on elliptical. Dr. is concerned I am exercising too many days a week and Losing weight too fast. First time I ever had a Dr. tell me that before. I suppose I am getting bit obsessive.

Hi, my name is Jayme, I was just sleeved on June 28th, let me start by saying that was a horrific surgery, I'm so sore, I don't feel hungry at all, just a bit thirsty. I am six days out from surgery amd don't see a way to return to work just yet, I can't even get thru an entire shower yet without having gas pains rise into my shoulders, and cripple me to the point I can't even dress myself... what am I doing wrong, I feel like things should be better by now

It gets better with time I know you are probably hearing that a lot but really it does. I have quite a few what the hell did I do to myself moments. I was sleeved well revised from lap band on 5/23/13 and I am finally loving my sleeve.

At Ghp in Michigan we're given something for " bowel spasms" A pill taken sublingual every 4 hours. I set my phone timer to it and didn't have gas again. I think it was a 10 day prescription. Sorry, I can't remember the name and I'm not home. Did anyone know.?

I've not heard of it' date=' that would be great if I could find gas relief[/quote']

Gas ex strips worked wonders for me. The pills took forever to kick in. I also had my husband to kind of beat on my back and shoulder blades to break the gas up. Kinda like burping a baby but a little harder lol. The more you move the faster it will break up, too. I know it's hard. It gets better.

Try a warm heating pad and some peppermint tea. It took me 3 weeks to reabsorb the gas pain in my shoulder. The shoulder pain is often from surgery, not the burping kind of gas.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
