Hello,

I think im driving my Husband insane, im constantly worried that im eating to much or im going to "stretch" my stomach. I eat any where from 1/3 cup food to 1/2 cup depending what im eating. Im a snacker so I find myself wanting to "not needing too" chew on something.

For some reason I cant get a hold of my nutritionist to get any ideas or suggestions. So any insight would be fantastic. I had my Surgery December 18th and today im down 75 pounds and have no Idea if thats where im suppose to be or if i should be losing more.

I just stress because I dont want to mess anything up. Obviously I did this for a reason. People are getting aggravated with me because I freak out.

again any insight or suggestions would be fantastic.

Thanks

When I feel the need to snack or crunch something.... I eat crunchy veggies... Carrots, jicama or cucumbers.... That seemed to do the trick!hope this helps...

Try to relax. There's not a lot you can do to stretch your stomach. The part that stretches has mostly been removed. At this point, your weightloss looks fine, probably better than average. Eating about 1/3 to 1/2 cup of food is pretty much on track. Make sure you are getting your Protein in and your Water but otherwise it sounds like your are right on track.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
