What a great job you've done! Congratulations on such a successful year. I would love to know any suggestions you have that will help the rest of us be that successful. Will you share? I was dropping it off fast, too, at 81 pounds in 4 months, but losing has slowed down to only a pound a week or so.

Did you hit any slumps, and how did you jump start the weight loss at that time?

Have you lost much hair?

Are you exercising a lot?

Thank you for any pointers you have. I am so inspired by you!

ty all..

Koala, i never really "hit a slump" I lost really slowly first 6 months, but the past 6, have been going faster and faster, im really expecting to hit goal by summer! I lose about 4-5 lbs a week now, which may be a lil fast, but all my blood test and everything come out normal, so, so far so good :grouphug:

With my surgery came a personal trainer, and i used to go to her twice a week, but i moved away from her, so now i kinda do what i can on my own at home with free weights and an exercise ball.

As for the hair.. my hair is insanely thick.. i did lose alot of hair for about a month, but noone noticed but me! In fact it saved me the trouble of paying to have it thinned lol. I was depending only on Protein powder for protein.. those real food Proteins are needed as well to keep ur hair.

I dont really have any "pointers" per se.. cuz i dont really feel like im doing anything any different.... this yr just flew by, so hopefully next yr will too :D

What an awesome job you have done!!!! You have done great! I am hoping I can do as good as you. Your an inspiration to all of us.

Good to know about the first 6 months being slow then it picking up, that will help us newbies. Also, the hair loss part. My hais is way too thick too and I have to have it thinned out with every hair cut, so maybe I won't lose as much either, or no one will notice my loss.

Congratulations again and I'm so happy for you and hopefully In a year, I can share my success story.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
