NJGurl19 50 Posted May 15, 2013 I was sleeved yesterday, and so far everything i eat make me cramp anyone experience this?
Ms.AntiBand 2,984 Posted May 15, 2013 Concentrate on your Water and just sip. Ifother things are painful then you need to wait longer for your swelling to lessen and then you can try again. Main concern is water. Stay hydrated... Whatever it takes.. Drink your water Good luck 1 LisaLoseAlotx2 reacted to this
mistysj 1,940 Posted May 15, 2013 To make sure my bites are small enough I just dip the spoon tip and that's my bite. Or liquids its just a tint sip at a time. I haven't had much yet, only one meal that wasn't Water.< /p>
ASKSARAH - Sleeve 256 Posted May 15, 2013 Sugar Type drinks ( apple juice etc..0 and straight Water made my tummy cramp. I did REALLY well with hot tea, and anything warm. Try that
Pammers Johnson 20 Posted May 15, 2013 I notice spasms with almost every sip or swallow. But just back off and try again. 3 days post op. have done warm tea. Sips of black coffee, Misso Soup broth (my fav) Green sugar free Jello and crushed ice with white grape juice mixed. Slw and steady. Have used gas x strips earlier today. It helped. Also heating pad. Tomorrow is full liquids but I expect to go back to clear a few times also. Excited o try my Premier Protein drinks. No hunger. Lots of spasms in stomach muscle when I got to sit up or lay down. nervousnellie 50 Posted May 15, 2013 I am a week out and still having spasms. I have been assured it is normal and will improve! I do notice that plain Water is the worst. Good luck in your recovery!
stacyd 64 Posted May 15, 2013 I am 5 days post op and I started yesterday with some little stinging shooting pains in my stomach. I think its gas pains but not sure. Is this what y'all mean by spasms?? I also get a crampy feeling with every sip of anything.
sueBhoney 13 Posted May 15, 2013 My surgeon told me my stinging pains were muscles spasms. Felt like bee stings. I didn't have anything but ice chips then sips of Water for two days after surgery. Then I had to drink 4oz of Protein Drink with no prob before I could go home the third day. I felt fine after surgery considering I had had most of my stomach cut out. Up and walking and all. But I can't imagine how some of these people can go home the day of surgery or the day after.
stacyd 64 Posted May 15, 2013 That's exactly what it feels like-little bee stings that catch me off guard. I was getting worried that maybe I had a leak or something else wrong.

melodymouse 196 Posted May 16, 2013 They are not letting use my Gas-X should i use them anyway?? Im so glad this is common i was scared.. Jello hurts me broth more than 2 spoons hurts me. Water lord let this pass.. Un a good note other than that i feel great NO!! The gas you feel is not in your intestines so the gas x won't help anyway. They fill your abdomen up with an air mixture to give them more room to move around. It has to be absorbed through your cells. The more you get up and walk, the faster it will go away! As for the other, remember to take tiny sips and try not to swallow air. It takes practice but does get better. Glad you feel great otherwise!
mistysj 1,940 Posted May 16, 2013 A heating pad works great for the shoulder pain.
