How do you feel when you don't get any replies to your post?

Recommended Posts

I know I try to post very infrequently and only post things I think would of be of interest to other people besides me -- cuz I feel down-right

rejected when I get -0- replies to a post. I know -- it's a reflection of my poor self-esteem -- but it's the truth, and if I can't be honest here -- where can I be honest? I

think I also am prone to feeling badly because I have no outside friends. I have mentioned that I'm home-bound -- so I haven't had a girlfriend for 15 years now. My husband is my only friend.

I know most of you are waaaaay more secure than me!!

Happy posting!

So sorry there have been times you haven't felt supported. I think sometimes it's a matter of timing and if somebody feels like they have something that will answer a question and / or help. Keep at it --- I'm confident you will get the support you need here and don't get bummed when a post from time to time doesn't get a response. It happens to all of us. Good luck on your journey!!!

To be honest with you and it might be my lack of knowledge, but I have a terrible time noticing posts if theyre more than several hours old. So, if I'm swamped at work or gone for the day I miss a gabillion and don't know it.

It's not because people aren't interested.. It's mostly due to the fact tht not everyone sees it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
