So I am almost the months out and down 49.5lbs. I may make 50 by my three month mark. But dang it I still see a fat chick. I'm almost 1/2 way to goal but I think I still look fat. I'm now in an 11/12 as opposed to a 20w. But I don't see it. Ugh. I know this is a minor issue, but it is starting to really bum me out.

Body issues is something that many people have to deal with. We have felt trapped in out old shape for quite a long time and have become accustomed to it. You have lost a lot of weight and that in itself is a huge victory. Remember, you are no longer that person you used to be. You are no longer defined by food, you are defined by how you see and present yourself; and you are one hot mama with crazy hot tats!

Keep on doing what you are doing and be a role model for those who may follow your lead. {{{hugs}}}

You're doing great. 50 lbs is a lot of weight. You can definitely tell the difference.

Thank you!

People tell me how much better I look, and I smile and say thank you. Because I don't want to be the person who says "yeah I'm still fat". But that is totally how I feel. I hope in time I will see it.

Go buy something super hot to wear that will make head REALLY turn. On a day you feel really low, wear that outfit and it will cheer you right up.

You look wonderful!!! Though I know that other people saying that does not help. I where a size 1, 2 or 3 and look ok with clothes, but I know what I REALLY look like, with all the skin, and still see myself as FAT!

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
